To help combat issues of privacy in a world under increasing surveillance, I have developed the Spoofing Gears series to render our faces unrecognisable. The range of facial coverings demonstrates a number of methods to prevent us from being read by facial recognition systems, none of which need any of your personal data. The devices have been designed to cover, blur or distort your features in various ways. The idea behind them is to give users a sense of control over what they will and will not share in a reality in which ownership of biometric assets is for sale.
